Who Defends Those Who Defend Us?

DefendtheDefenders.org raises money and awareness for the defense of soldiers and Marines whose actions in the heat of combat are being second-guessed.

DefendtheDefenders.org stands behind the man who puts his life on the line again and again, who makes life or death decisions in the blazing heat, exhaustion, fear and confusion of war while conducting combat operations intended to capture or kill the enemy and as a result of his actions in combat becomes the subject of an investigation or even formal charges.

DefendtheDefenders.org was begun out of despair when my son, an infantry officer, faced murder charges for doing his job: killing two Iraqi terrorists during the insurgent uprising of 2004. As a mother, it was unthinkable that I would find myself in a courtroom listening to attorneys battle for my son's life only because he chose to defend his country in a second war.

Americans of all ages and stripes responded to my cry for help and with your donations and your support we have been able to do more than just help my son.

We have paid for civilian defense attorneys to appeal the case of PFC Edward Richmond, USA, and without taking positions on guilt or innocence, we contributed to the individual defense funds of the Marines charged in the Hamdania incident because just like the citizenry that they protect, our warriors are entitled to the best defense available under the law.

Most recently, we have contributed to the defense fund of U.S. Specialist Mario Lozano, USA, who is being tried by the Italian government for doing his job as an American Soldier: Protecting his men.

As long as this war rages, we will stand vigilant, doing what we can, when we can to defend those that defend us.
