Gentlemen:

Please find the enclosed check from DefendtheDefenders.org, Inc. for the amount of One Thousand U.S. Dollars for the Defense Fund of SPC Lozano.

DefendtheDefenders.org, Inc. is an organization established to raise money and awareness for the defense of soldiers and Marines whose actions in the heat of combat are being second-guessed in a Courtroom.

Cleared by the American military of any wrong doing, SPC Lozano is now fighting against charges put forth by the Italian government which is seeking his extradition for a trial in absentia scheduled for May 14, 2007, for charges which stem from a March 4, 2005 incident along Baghdad's notorious Route Irish where a speeding car containing Giuliana Sgrena and agent Nicola Calipari failed to stop and identify themselves in keeping with then established protocols, SPC Lozano made the split second decision to fire upon the car, into the engine block, unfortunately mortally wounding Mr. Calipari.

The $1,000.00 given herein to SPC Lozano's Defense Fund comes from Americans who have donated to our cause. These generous Americans are dismayed that our soldiers and Marines are not only fighting a war where they have volunteered to put their life on the line in the defense of our country, but then because of their actions in combat must fight for their freedom in a courtroom, in this particular case, in a foreign country.

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to participate in the defense of SPC Lozano, a hero, brave and true.
